PEAK Youth

PEAK Youth includes 6th-12th graders who attend several different middle and high schools and have a wide variety of interests and passions. PEAK youth meets weekly on Sundays & Wednesdays throughout the school year plus special events and mission trips during the summer. Many of our youth stay involved at FUMC whether helping at VBS, participating in worship, singing in the choir or the praise band, sharing their gift of art or a musical instrument, or helping with the many mission projects happening at church.

Why PEAK? While we’re with our youth group, whether together at church or on a mission trip, we’re on the mountaintop with God. We feel closest to God as we serve others, study the Bible, and worship together.

Sunday School

The weekly lesson is devoted to using scripture to help young people find their way and purpose in God’s world.  The lives of the youth and the issues they face are used to discern the meaning of God’s word for them. God’s answers to the questions that begin with “How?” and Why?” are examined in depth. Sunday School meets weekly at 10:00AM.

Junior High 6th-8th graders meet in the Junior High Room down the left hall on the second floor of the atrium

Senior High 9th-12th graders meet in the senior high room located on the second floor of the atrium

Fellowship and Study

Sundays 5-7 pm: We meet in the Christian Life Center for an evening of dinner, study, games, music, fellowship, all with the purpose of creating disciples of Christ.

Wednesdays 6:15-7pm: This is a great opportunity for PEAK youth to bring their homework, projects, Bible study materials, and more to work on whatever they choose together in the Senior High room.

Mission Trips & Retreats

International Mission Trips We hope to plan a youth international mission trip for Summer 2023!

M25 Homeless Ministry is our senior high mission trip to Atlanta Ga. We work closely with homeless organizations and other non-profit organizations in and around the Metro Atlanta area

COOL (Christians Out Offering Love) is our local youth mission camp June 21-24th, 2023. Both middle and high school youth participate, and we stay at FUMC, serve others in our community, worship together, play games, and grow in our faith.

ASP:

“ASP provides one of the most rewarding structured service opportunities in the nation — bringing thousands of volunteers from around the country to rural Central Appalachia to repair homes for low-income families.

Since 1969, we’ve made homes warmer, safer, and drier for families and provided transformational service experiences for volunteers. Each year, more than 15,000 volunteers serve with ASP, providing critical repairs for more than 350 families.”
